What is a Cable? -Cable is an  an insulated wire or wires having a protective casing and used for transmitting electricity or telecommunication signals. A. Twisted Pair Cable   -type of cable that consists of two independently insulated wires twisted around one another. The use of two wires twisted together helps to reduce  crosstalk  and electromagnetic induction. While twisted-pair cable is used by older telephone  networks  and is the least expensive type of  local-area network (LAN) cable, most networks contain some twisted-pair cabling at some point along the network. Other types of cables used for LANs include  coaxial cables and  fiber optic cables. STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) STP is similar to UTP but with each  pair  covered by an additional copper braid jacket or foil wrapping. This  shielding  helps protect the signals on the  cables  from external interference. UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable is a  100 ohm  copper cabl
